Hello everyone,
My name is Mai, and I am a Christian believer. First of all, I would like to invite you to have a look at a few comments on my following post:
https://www.christianforums.com/threads/rb-recently-advertises-a-gav-couple.8195343/
This is the first one:
“Hello everyone, I intended to post this into a Canadian Christian forum. However, I haven’t found one that is specifically for Canada yet. Therefore, alow me to post it here.
Royal Bank Canada has recently posted the following advertisement on their website:
You’veSignedOut ofOnlineBanking RBCRovalBank
As I’ve got an error while inserting an image, please follow the link above to see it. I have asked them twice to remove this from my logging out page, they didn’t do anything. They even didn’t response to my second request and this raised a concern to me.
Although LGBTQ is not somewhat we may condemn on or reveal any discrimination against, it is not a new righteousness or a new “normal” that we are recommended to live with.
While we should care for everyone and even more for someone who is special, we cannot change something not right into a new standard of living. This does not help anyone. You cannot make someone think that they are not special simply by telling them that they are not special. And this doesn’t mean anything. I can live with my specialty. And they do, too. No one can blame on me or discriminate against me or against them because of my or their specialty. But righteousness is righteousness.
Anyway, I have explained to them that because of the big Christian community which contributes to more that 67% of the Canadian population, and they do not help to promote the faithfulness to the Bible, so please do not do something that damages it. This is obviously unfair.
I posted this letter for two reasons. The first reason is to ask you for your opinion. The second reason is that would like you to recommend me another bank that I might switch to, as I don’t know which one can be my good choice.
Thank you very much.”
Please accept my apologies for the word mistakes and grammar errors that I have made through my post as well as my comments, since l am not a native speaker. Anyway, I have decided to leave them as is because there have been a number of people who have viewed and commented on my post and I am afraid the changes may affect its meaning.
I have commented as follows after a few days:
“Thank you all for your advice and comments. In my opinion, I believe the occurrence of homosexuality, adultery, and all other matters originates from our own fall/guilt, and not belong to God’ original design. Additionaly, I am deeply aware that each of the flaws is because of the world, including myself. Thus what we need to do is to treat it with love, not hatred or discrimination against. It is not only about the sympathy or empathy, but it is the responsibility of each of us as human beings. Please notice that my object was the bank action, not the people from the picture themselves. Though we are all flawed, what we need to maintain is an ideal imagination and the faith to The Lord God. It is not for Him, but for ourselves, because everything, even the least, He does towards us, is for us. A pure and clean world is the only way that benefits everyone. If I commit to an adultery, I cannot convince myself that l am totally clean, but that’s the matter between God and I. The love you show me in this situation is that you do not judge what l am doing. But more than anyone else, I would love a future where there is no one experiencing things that I am experiencing, a world of original design where true and faithful love shines. If RBC supports adultery like what is in my story, they are bad to me not good. Love is more subtle than superficial actions. We sympathize with each other and all aim at a pure world and all faithful to God is the best to help each other. Please remember RBC did that for their profit, not to show their love to anyone. Likewise, a pair of gays is lovable and we must include them like anyone else because of both what God requires us to do and our responsibility. But that’s not a standard of living. Be careful! You met a man with his second wife and show your unbiased love to them is far different from you symbolize adultery. The former does help them while the latter does harm them. And they don’t like the way you advertise it I believe. Everyone is imperfect but everyone loves perfection. RBC was wrong (if they respect the Christian majority) because they normalized a style that is against the core value of the Bible. Notice that Jesus shows more restriction towards these relationships. He asked husband and wife not to divorce while Moses allowed. The world is made of males and females. And whatever taken out of the Law He would require it to be more righteous not less. The way our ancients showed discrimination against each other was against Jesus’ lectures but they didn’t realize it, though they have received what they deserved to. Gays are obviously not truly happy with their sexual lives, to be honest, because their way of making love is unnatural and because the satisfaction that we achieve through sex does not last long while they do not yield reproduction. Please see lesbians, gays, adultery, diseases etc. as flaws of this world where everyone is responsible for. But maintaining a clean imagination and the faith is the righteousness and for all of us.”
After the comment, I feel that there have been some people who understand what I said. However, there were still people who were doubtful about it, so l decided to write another one:
“Slavery is what human species must experience when their awareness was still very limited. A few brighter and stronger minds were put before to guide others. Unfortunately, they were not ‘bright’ enough to understand that masters were to serve. These great and sacred spirits they simply were unable to possess until Jesus taught them. Hence the black, the poor and women had long been underestimated over a long period of time. Nowhere in the Bible taught us to look down on them, but all Jehovah had done was to seek fairness to them. If you say: “what about the ‘domination’ of a man that God put over a woman?’ That was because there is a necessary where a stronger mind needed to put before to guide a weaker mind. That is right in nature. This includes unmarried or independent women because they would perform the best only when they agreed to be guided directly by God. Women are more and more independent thanks to the nurture that God patiently offer to human beings. But domination is what very much the same as the way God ‘dominates’ us which is what God longs for us to be acknowledged about. It is the bright and great philosophy that a master must achieve. Anyway, this has nothing to do with looking down on, hatred or discrimination against. Nevertheless, the unclean status of every person is true. God emphasizes the importance of cleanliness for someone who expects to get close to Him is because of their safety, not because He hates them when they are unclean. It is the truth like thin paper cannot get close to fire. He repeatedly emphasizes the unclean cannot see Him because they would die. It was not because He would kill them, but they could not be still alive when they saw Him. Therefore during the time He needed to be with the Israelites closely, the cleanliness of a servant was important for his security. This is because of two reasons. The first reason is that the Israelites were getting very near God. And the second reason is because they were weak in mind. It is the fact that a weak mind can easily get irritated by the demand of the body. The stronger it is, the less it is controlled by the body. Again, God mentioned the unclean status of someone is a caution for their own safety when He reached them, not to cause any hatred or discrimination against. The unclean status of a woman who is in her period or of someone who is having some disease is not much different from the status of a man who has an emission. It was because of the nature of the status and God only wanted to keep them safe. Anyway, it is useful to emphasize again, the stronger the mind is, the less it is influenced by its physical status. Therefore, there are two facts that we could draw here. The first is the avoidance of women, the poor and the black was the product of the weakness of our ancients and they were not according to anything that was taught by God. The second is the unclean status of anyone among us is true and we need to aim at the cleanliness to reach God. While our ancients aimed at the physical cleanliness and what they were mostly able to serve God was physical, we stronger minds should aim at the mental cleanliness to reach Him. Our ancient tried to isolate themselves from the world because he believed that he could be clean alone. We are now aware that even the tiniest item in this universe has a close connection to all others so we would rather love each other. We are here to love and to share. But the core value and the righteousness cannot be compromised. “God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them”, “the two of them become one body”, and “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; such a thing is an abomination” are sacred. Again, I am not aiming at putting hatred or discrimination against anyone, I am here to talk about wealthy huge engines out there who do not worship anything rather than their money.”
And it has been about two months and a half until now that there have been no further comments. Second, I would like to ask you to think about a few definitions and discussion about gender and sex found in the Ontario Human Rights Commission, the Teaching Human Rights in Ontario: A Guide for Ontario Schools, and in the Elementary Curriculum designed by the Ministry of Education.
From the Ontario Human Rights Commission:
“Gender identity is each person’s internal and individual experience of gender. It is their sense of being a woman, a man, both, neither, or anywhere along the gender spectrum. A person’s gender identity may be the same as or different from their birth-assigned sex.”
“Trans or transgender is an umbrella term referring to people with diverse gender identities and expressions that differ from stereotypical gender norms. It includes but is not limited to people who identify as transgender, trans woman (male-to-female), trans man (female-to-male), transsexual, cross-dresser, gender non-conforming, gender variant or gender queer.”
From the Teaching Human Rights in Ontario: A Guide for Ontario Schools:
“Bisexual. According to the Ontario Human Rights Commission, “a person who is emotionally, physically, spiritually and/or sexually attracted to members of more than one gender”
“Sexual orientation. According to the Ontario Human Rights Commission, “the direction of one’s sexual interest or attraction. It is a personal characteristic that forms part of who you are. It covers the range of human sexuality from lesbian and gay, to bisexual and heterosexual.”
From the Elementary Curriculum:
“Teacher prompt: “Gender identity refers to a person’s internal sense or feeling of being a woman, a man, both, neither, or anywhere on the gender spectrum, which may or may not be the same as the person’s birth-assigned sex. It is different from and does not determine a person’s sexual orientation. Sexual orientation refers to a person’s sense of sexual attraction to people of the same or different sex.”
“Student: “It is important for people to have role models that they can relate to-for example, people of similar ages or cultures. It’s also important to have all gender identities and sexual orientations portrayed positively in the media, in literature, and in materials we use at school.””
“Teacher:”..Sexual orientation refers to a person’s sense of sexual attraction to people of the same or different sex.””
“Teacher prompt: “Thinking about your sexual health is important… it’s also about things like your physical and emotional readiness;.. your sexual orientation and gender identity”
Finally, I have had some thoughts about this.
I believe that gender spectrum is a deviant concept. It has no support evidence, includes biological conflicts and has a weird definition. Teaching our young students about this concept will make them misunderstand about gender. In addition, teachers asking students to identify themselves in this spectrum will make them more confused. They tend to refuse what their parents believe. And since they are not yet grown up and not yet strong, they may be seduced into all kinds of relationships. There would not be any big problems, if the first few sexual experiences might not leave any big impression on them. This may result in a serious delay in learning who they are. There has already been evidence that students have actively joined to teach their peers about those new concepts including gender identity and sex orientations. They are groups created by the Gay-straight alliance organization.
Generally, I would like people to consider removing the gender spectrum concept from the Ontario Human Rights Commission and related content from the Elementary Curriculum. Second, how about simply teaching our children to respect everyone regardless of their personal identity because each of us is unique? Teachers can say love is involuntary. We respect our happiness, so do we respect others’. There are men who love women, but still there are men who love each other and women who love each other. You must respect everyone, their love, and their happiness, regardless of your personal priority.
